It’s a wrap! The 3rd and best Big Volunteer Week! Thanks to fabulous Sue Grimes for all the job coordinating, our amazing project leaders, and our many, many wonderful volunteers. 135 individuals combined to volunteer over 1000 hours to paint and do yard work for those unable to care for their homes, to watch the children of refugees while their moms learned English, and to love on the elderly at several senior living facilities by painting nails, playing bingo, and even line dancing.
We had youth groups from St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Peninsula Community Chapel, and Warwick Memorial United Methodist; the Tabb High football team (for the 3rd time); and employees from Ferguson Enterprises along with many of our regular volunteers. We even had a team of volunteers loving on our volunteers by providing lunch each day! Many people doing small things together can make a big difference and you made a big difference this week! Our Celebration at the end of the week for our volunteers, those we served, and the surrounding community was pretty awesome too!
